Rumor has it (Done)

Something's telling me that these little guys will end up on some mugs for Christmas. (Total's something like 18x12, acrylic on bristol board.)

Rumor has it

A little fishie diptych in progress. Title? "Rumor has it". Because that song was playing on the radio, and because fish have nothing else to do, but gossip.

A distraction.

A while back, El finally convinced me to watch the Game of Thrones TV series. Books were better. Books were a lot better, but somehow, during reading that series, the absolute awkward joy by the name of Brienne of Tarth went unnoticed. The character has a surprising, relateable appeal, even if her issues do remain constant.

... And so here I am, at almost 11 o'clock at night, sniveling like a broken-hearted schoolgirl over a bit of Brienne-related fanfiction. It has been years since a piece of writing actually made me cry. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

Commissions are still delicious.

A couple of creature drawings for an old roomie. Apparently, I do those now for $30 a pop...

Low quality is intentional.

Not art related.

Pretty major news, regardless. For the past few weeks, a little siamese has been seen in the neighborhood. Obviously dumped, skinny as a rail. So we started feeding it. El's parents happened to have a small animal-trap.
One baited trap, a trip to the vet, and a flea bath later, we've got a 4-and-a-half pound THAT.

Both of the other cats hate her guts already. Sigh.

The Art of Wrenliness 21-23

Bulk update through July.

It's.. really apparent that the first two panels were drawn a month or so before the last one, I think.

Paintings from today

A couple of 4x4 hepaticas and an 8x10 pic from botanical gardens in Richmond.

Louis Ginter Botanical Gardens

Along with stepbrothers' wedding, we went to see the botanical gardens last week. They had a live butterfly exhibit up, which was pretty darn magical. Here's some pictures from that.

Odd Landscapes

Holston Running High

Flood Waters

Acrylic on board

The river's was rather high yesterday, when I took those pics. And the water was this amazing funky olive color. So... landscapes.
