More studies

Done with the bluebird large. Going to let it sit on the easel for a bit to see if anything jumps out in terms of quality control. Meanwhile, here are some half-hour painted sketches. The DeskCat decided he liked the one of the leaf.

Studies and progress on Bluebird

The smaller tidbits are 4.5x4.5 inches, acrylic on board. Just practice/stocking stuffing for the holiday market.

The bluebird thing is 24x48 inches, acrylic on wood. This one is still in progress. I hope to make the tree pattern a lot less geometric.. but we'll see where it goes.

Over the past couple of days, 've spent way too much time moping about a nonexistent painting education, not being where I should be career-wise, lack of social life, and so forth. The solution to that is to get more work hours in. It doesn't exactly remedy the problem, but it does get ones' mind off of things.

Sometimes I wonder what the actual market for the strange, the wonderful, and the faerie-talesque is.

After several days on this thing, I realize that it doesn't matter. In the sturgeon-goldfish-pike critter, in the steady drone of NPR, and in the never-ending movement of the brush, there is solitude for the restless mind. It is peace.

"The Sunfish and the Hare", acrylic on board. Painting Thief of Flowers made me realize that I really, really missed the Astral Fishies. All the more reason to re-visit the theme!

Panic mode.

Finished 2x4 footer (One based on the "When Sun and Moon Meet") the day before yesterday. It sold today. On one side, selling stuff is awesome. On another side, that piece was supposed to go into the November show.

Currently working on "Thief of a 100 Flowers", part of the (long-procrastinated-upon) "Thieves of Spring" series. This thing is about 24x36 inches, acrylic on board. 20 hours in it so far.
