Night Blooms

Night Blooms
11x14, acrylic on panel.

The iridescence and the depth of the background does not come through at all. As per usual.

Return of the Chickie

It's been a gloomy day. So, a chickie! (And a fancy faerie frog).
5.5x8 inches, acrylic on panel.

11x13 inches, acrylic on board. Dragonfruit flowers in progress.
And on an unrelated note, we got into jigsaw puzzles recently. They're too much fun for their own good.

The Mouse Queen

For a Wizard-of-Oz themed exhibit in June. 6x6 inches, gouache on Bristol board. Have a lovely golden frame for this bugger, too.

Huh, looks like I had one 5x5 panel in the box, after all..(Acrylic on board)

Finished 12x16 Chelsea.
Her fur detailings include scenes of cat-herding, beach-romping and bed-stealing.

Chicksplosion in the fluff factory.

Chickens go on.

5x5 inch, acrylic on board.
Progress on 18x24.
And another ATC from the ComicFury art trade!

And a piece for an art trade.

Still chickens.

5x5 inch, acrylic on board from this morning.
Edit: A little 7x7 inch study for a friend. Huskies always look angry...
Planning out an 18x24.

Found someone on facebook with fair number of good chicken pictures. Painting a few, using the said pictures with permission. Here's a 5x7. Will be spending the rest of the day on the 12x16 dog.

Edit: And here's the dog in progress.

Her name was Chelsea, and she was a beauty.

And some more dogs.

9x12, acrylic on board.

This is one of those cases where the original pictures are 2x2-inch old photographs of a critter long since gone... We do what we can, with what we have.

(Also, the maximum number of dogs one can fit into a 9x12? 3, apparently.)

Pet portraits in progress.

A 12x16

And a 9x12 compilation.

Both need a lot of work, hence the progress part.

Starting to receive the ATCs from a Comic Fury exchange. First one's by Ryan C; "Eternal Knight", according to the back. Seems oddly appropriate.

Odds and ends.

The 5x5 inch from today.

And a bit of henna experimentation, which 've done in the middle of the work day and then couldn't use the hand for a while.

Last but not least, this is what happens when a bunch of artsy people get together. Courtesy of Spitfire and ComicFury Chatzy chatroom.

A 5x5 inch from today, acrylic on board.

We'll be going to the cherry festival in DC this weekend, which I'm looking forward to immensely. The height of blooms was today, but it's still supposed to be rather nice out. Hopefully some nice pictures shall be taken.

What I need to do is find some place to take good reference pics of fruits on branches. There's just not enough of the right thing on google images, as far as that goes.

Carrying on Spring theme.

5x5 inches, acrylic on board.

Still pecking at the snake/butterfly painting, and it is still being frustrating.

Came back from Indiana today. Of course, it rained 6/8 days I was there, so little work got done. On the bright side, that rooster on the left of the flock shall hereby be known as Nemesis.

Rooster #2, the white one, remains nameless due to his laid-back nature.
