Art update

Tired. Overwhelmed. Possibly losing ability to communicate with people. ._.
A pair of owlets (one's a request, the other's just a tiny-owl for the heck of it.) (7x7 and 6.5x5 inches, acrylic on board.)

Commission for a local art festival's signature art. (In progress.) The behemoth is 42x55 inches in size and I am bloody terrified of it.

3 paintings away..

3 paintings away until being done for November.

Finally done with stuff for the Arts Depot fundraiser. These 3 below are all 6x6 inches total.

And here's a 12x12 inch tidbit on subject of aprons.(For an upcoming group show.) 've never taken aprons to apply domestically- none of my relations wore them while cooking. Instead, aprons always meant studio to me.
A rib for a friend.

And lastly, a couple of faces. One's for an existing doll.

Odds and ends.

... Brain dead after "Zombie Prom", a live musical.

So.
Updates.

Had a reception  for my first solo gallery show in a nearby town, Marion, VA. It was decent. Below-friend and yours truly in front of Thief of a 100 Flowers.
There was also some violin music. Which was neat.

Finally recovered from a rather nasty bout of tonsillitis. Some work, meanwhile.
Studies. (8 inches at most in any direction, acrylic on board.)
And a couple of drawings started on a side-project (experimenting with acrylic inks), that 'm going to have to redo. (Note to self: have some idea of what you're doing before going through with it.)

Acrylic Inks

Been considering using acrylic inks for a while now- at least two people I know use them with great results. Finally picked some up Friday at Cheap Joe's and tried them out today.

The inks were satisfactory. They're like watercolor that does not flow after drying. Very crisp and clean feeling to them. (All the images below were done on 9.5x11 watercolor paper, 140lbs)

Update

Haven't written in a bit. Not much new. Finished Little Wren series (6 images total), a bone painting for a friend, 5 miniatures (need to take pictures of those), and a proposal. Never you mind that 'm morally against art contests ("Make us some free work, and -maybe- we'll pay for your design". No other job functions like that.)

Anyway, here's a little doodle in the meanwhile. 12x12 inches, acrylic on board. Little satyr.
